The States of Guernsey are seeking a Team Leader to join the Autism Hub team as part of Adult Disability services.

The post holder is a member of the adult disability service that supports people with a learning disability and autism. The position is based in The Autism Hub, a purpose built complex with a number of individual bugalows built for the support for people with complex Autism.

Staff are required to work a shift system that offers support 24 hours a day.

Staff are involved in all aspects of maintaining the area using the active support model, this may include cleaning, shopping, washing ironing, cooking etc. Service users will be encouraged to participate in these activities with the staff.

Staff are expected to hold a driving licence and be prepared to drive service vehicles. The Manager can apply a level of flexibility with this requirement.

Band 5 staff are expected to be able to co-ordinate and lead a team within the service, and also develop and implement programmes of care and support.

Job Description

This role comes with a competitive salary, an annual bonus, progressive annual leave and entitlement to a pension scheme. We will also consider previous service in a substantive post in the NHS towards your entitlement to annual leave, maternity leave and sick pay.

This role also benefits from an additional bonus of £3,000, which is payable on the anniversary of the second and fourth year of employment.

For candidates who would be required to relocate to the Bailiwick of Guernsey, we also offer a relocation package to help with the cost of moving over to the Island. This relocation package offers different solutions depending on an individual's circumstances.

This role offers off-Island candidates an 8-year Long Term Employment Permit (see details below). This permit will also enable candidates to bring immediate family members with them who will be permitted to work on the Island in any sector. There are also good schools on Island for those candidates looking to bring their families with them.
